I am an assistant professor in Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICT, CAS). I obtained my Ph.D. in DCST of Tsinghua University in 2007. My research interests include Information Integration, Software Integration, Services Composition and Mashup Technologies.

Selected Projects

    Jan.2008 - Present End-User Service Programming Model for Supporting Web Information Resource Aggregation (PI)
    This project aimed at enabling end-users - those without programming skills - to extract and combine data from today‘s Web. We developed a prototype called Mashroom, consists of (1) a web server hosting a community of different forms of data sources, such as RSS feeds, RESTful services, SOAP based services; (2) Canvas, a mashup tool to combine data sources in a spreadsheet & workflow like manner; (3) Grubber, a tool enabling end users to build RESTful services from Web-based data sources. Compared with the pure flow-chart-centric mashup editors like Yahoo! Pipes, we believe Mashroom is better at balancing powerfulness and easiness-for-use for average end users. This work was supported by the Post-Doctor Science Foundation of China (Grant No. 20080430582).
    July.2008 - Present Zero-code Mobile Widget Programming & Management Environment, Collaborated with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. China (Co-PI)
    Based on pre-research of the end-user service programming and the Mashroom prototype, this project aimed at developing a "Zero-code" Programming Environment for the end-users to create a widget from web pages, RSS/Atom feeds, Open APIs, etc. This project also aimed at developing a mobile widget community for widget sharing and reusing.
    Oct.2008 - Jan. 2009 Changfeng Alliance SOA Strategic Study (PI)
    In this project, we aimed at making a SOA technology roadmap for Changfeng Alliance. We wrote the first research report on SOA technology in China.
